I went for a walk around downtown Saint Paul today and I was struck that there seemed to be a Peanuts theme around the city. Upon investigation, I found that the Peanuts creator, Charles Schultz, was born and raised here in the twin cities, hence lots of statues of peanuts characters around town. I took some photos using Hipstamatic and thought you'd like to see them:

ironic this one, since there wasn't a bookshop to be found in downtown Saint Paul!

Aren't they delightful? I thought they were a really fun and wonderful way to celebrate Charles Schultz - more cities should embrace their creative citizens like this!
