I made a decision a few weeks ago that it as time to stop complaining about my fluctuation weight and complete lack of fitness and DO SOMETHING. So, when I got back from Auckland, I went and signed up at my local gym.
Now, anyone who knows me, knows this: I hate gyms.
But, I am also 33 and while I don't consider myself fat, I do know I am not in the best shape I could be and that the longer I leave this, the harder it will be to get started. So I bit the bullet, swallowed my pride, and signed up.
I've had 2 sessions now and I am already feeling better. I don't have a HEAP of weight to lose - 8-10kgs will be fine - but I want to be able to run. Really run. When I was in New York las year I got to see the New York Marathon and it was inspiring. Let's face it, the scenery aint too bad either. And while I doubt I'll ever be a marathon runner, I am going to do fun runs and walks whenever I can....
Which leads me to tell you about the Mother's Day Classic. Run on...yeah, Mother's Day, it raises money and awareness for research into Breast Cancer. I've registered for the 8km walk and, if you are so inclined, I'd love you to sponsor me (click on the image to open a new page) even a couple of dollars so we can KICK CANCER'S ASS!!!
